Design Standards
Tower Analysis and Design use the following British and Euro Standards in the analysis of self-supporting towers and guyed masts:
- Assessment of the tower loading; BS 8100 parts 1 & 2 (1986)
- Assessment of the guyed mast loading; BS 8100 part 4 (1986)
- Member Design to BS 8100 part 3 (1999)
- Site Wind Profile; BS EN 1991-1-4; 2005 and the National Annex
- EN1993-1-1:2005. General rules and rules for buildings.
A Historical Overview of the British Standard and Eurocodes
The vast majority of self-supporting towers in use today were installed from the mid-1960s to the present day; over this period there have been enormous changes to the British Standards governing their design. Tower Analysis and Design specialise in the analysis of these structures.
Notes on General Design Standards
Over the past 60 years there have been fundamental changes to way wind loading on structures has been assessed. The British Standards for tower and mast design have also changed dramatically over the years.
